Sometimes, what is considered the worst possible weather for an outdoor wedding can surprisingly have the best outcome. This beautiful photo of Lacy and Cody was taken on a November evening, following a rainy and overcast day. About 45 minutes before the ceremony, the rain stopped and they had a wonderful wedding ceremony. As you can see they also have some of the most beautiful sunset photos imaginable. When it is raining on your wedding day, and you have an outdoor ceremony planned it can cause a little panic, especially if your heart is set on having it outdoors. It is always important, even in Arizona, to have a “plan B” in place. At Saguaro Buttes we simply pull the ceremony into our beautiful reception area.
Photographers also love having clouds in the sky because it adds texture and color to the pictures, especially at sunset. So, if it is raining on your wedding day, take heart, you may end up with pictures of your wedding as beautiful as those of Lacy and Cody.

Parking lots are parking lots, they are not the most attractive part of a property. At Saguaro Buttes the parking lot is on the lower level of the property, which makes it nice but with dozens of low level lights, the parking lot at Saguaro Buttes looks much like Christmas lights, in the early evening.

I never get tired of the beautiful sunsets in Tucson. Each one is unique in its own way. This picture was taken from our new front porch on January 23rd, looking West toward Kitt Peak and the Quinlan Mountains.
Saguaro Buttes is located on 26 acres adjacent to Saguaro National Park. Not only are we blessed with gorgeous views but also an abundance of wild life comes down from the Park looking for food and water. The deer pictured to the right visited us this week.
Karla & Chris were wed on Thursday evening, January 22nd, at 4:45 p.m. at Saguaro Buttes. It was one of those rare rainy days in Tucson, which brought the wedding inside. Most weddings at Saguaro Buttes are held outside on a beautiful ceremony site with the Rincon Mountains as the backdrop. Inside, with wall to wall windows, you still have the beautiful views of the Mountains, and guests are seated around their tables, and can enjoy the ceremony in the warmth and dryness of the indoors.

It’s the playoff season, the Arizona Cardinals are playing in the NFC
championship game, and football is in the air. As a loyal Bears fan growing up in the Chicago area, I had to post this picture of a Chicago Bears wedding cake at a recent wedding at Saguaro Buttes. The groom must have gotten permission from the Bride on this one.

A beautiful photo of the ring exchange during a ceremony at Saguaro Buttes. The bride and groom pledge their love and honor to each other with a ring, the circle being the symbol of eternity, having no beginning and no end.

It seems that a wedding cake is not complete without some sort of topper. Personalized cake toppers make for a unique topper, and can really look like the bride and groom. Recently I found a web site that where they personalize your cake topper called Hoss Studio. It’s not cheap but they actually look like the people who send in their photos. Another web site which is much more cost effect, and is more abstract is called Nicole W. Clark. Either way it will probably be a topper that you keep for a long time. The topper pictured to the right was taken at a recent wedding at Saguaro Buttes.

Here is a new look for the cake display. This cake table was illuminated by using seasonal lights under the linen, which made it very elegant. It was a wonderful looking table at a recent wedding at Saguaro Buttes with the outdoor rope lights are seen through the window in the background.

Hors d’oeurves at a recent Saguaro Buttes wedding were beautifully placed and nicely arranged. This arrangement included various wines and cheeses, chips & dips, vegetable and fruit platters as well as nuts and sweets.
The Rincon mountains provide the backdrop for some beautiful pictures. Pictured in the background of this photo is Rincon Peak which is 8482 ft. in elevation. During the winter months this peak will be snow covered. Rincón is Spanish for corner, denoting the primary shape of the mountain range. Mica Mountain (8,664 feet), the high-point of the Rincons forms the apex, with Rincon Peak (8,482 feet) forming the southern point, and Tanque Verde Peak forming the western point of the corner. The interior of the corner is Rincon Valley (south and west of Mica Mountain).
At Jewish weddings a chuppah is used for the ceremony with the bride and groom standing underneath it. Here the chuppah is brightly colored with family and dear friends holding each of the four poles. The chuppa has a rich history and various symbolic meanings. Chuppah literally means a canopy or a covering. A chuppah symbolizes the home the couple will build together. This “home” initially lacks furniture as a reminder that the basis of a Jewish home is the people within it, not the possessions. It can also represent the beginning of a new family or for others, the four, open sides represent the tent of Abraham with its many doors, symbolic of his never-ending hospitality. Thus, the chuppah represents hospitality to one’s guests. There are no laws governing a chuppah’s construction or its “look”. Many synagogues offer chuppot to their future brides and grooms. Florists also rent and decorate chuppot, or a bride and groom may create their own that may be passed down to future generations.
