Ring Bearer & Flower Girl

ring bearer and Flower GirlShould the Ring Bearer and the Flower Girl remain standing or should they be seated during the wedding ceremony? This is a good question and I always ask the bride and groom if they have a preference.  If the children are under 5 years old it can be a real challenge for them to stand still during the ceremony, and they can also be very distracting and I would recommend  they be seated. The children for the most part don’t mind being seated and I think prefer it. Older children though usually do just fine standing during the ceremony. The picture to the right was taken of a Ring Bearer and Flower Girl at Saguaro Buttes just before walking in the processional.

Snow Covered Rincon Mountains

Snow Covered Rincon Mountains Tucson occasionally gets a dusting of snow which can make for beautiful pictures especially on the surrounding  mountains. It usually doesn’t last very long, and is melted off by midday. Here is a picture taken on February 10, 2009 of Saguaro Buttes with the Rincon  Mountains in the background. Bagpipes at your Wedding

Bag PipesBagpipers have been entertaining guests at weddings, banquets and parties for centuries. The romantic strains of the pipes add a special touch to any wedding, whether inside a church sanctuary or outside in a park or garden. For centuries in Scotland and Ireland the music of the pipes have heralded the approach of the bridal party. At a recent wedding at Saguaro Buttes, bagpipes were played as part of the processional by one of the family members who was also a groomsman. Memorial Rose Ceremony

Rose CeremonyA rose ceremony is simple yet profoundly moving.  Normally a rose ceremony is an exchanging of roses between the bride and groom.  But at a recent wedding ceremony at Saguaro Buttes the Bride and Groom used roses as a memorial, as a way of remembering family members who are no longer with us. The ceremony consisted of family members, including children, each bringing a rose at the beginning of the processional. Each rose was placed in a single vase, with each rose representing the family member departed.   As the roses were placed in the vase their names were announced. Photos were take by Desi Aragon. @ Photos (c) Desi Aragon - desiaragon@gmail.com. Prepare/Enrich New Premarital Counseling program in Tucson

Prepare enrichPrepare/Enrich (web site) has just come out with a new customized version of its very popular premarital counseling program. It has more information and much more colorful reports then previously. Prepare/Enrich has been building stronger marriages for over 25 years, and it is, in my opinion a wonderful tool for couples. If you want some premarital counseling, which I recommend,  we offer this free of charge to any couple getting married at Saguaro Buttes. To participate, simply send your email addresses letting us know you would like to receive the questions.  Once answered the couples meet individually or in groups if desired to look at the results and to work through the new workbook that has come out with the program. It is honestly fun, and a great learning experience, and a wonderful way to invest in your future marriage relationship. You have nothing to lose and everything to gain.
