Memorial Rose Ceremony

Rose CeremonyA rose ceremony is simple yet profoundly moving.  Normally a rose ceremony is an exchanging of roses between the bride and groom.  But at a recent wedding ceremony at Saguaro Buttes the Bride and Groom used roses as a memorial, as a way of remembering family members who are no longer with us. The ceremony consisted of family members, including children, each bringing a rose at the beginning of the processional. Each rose was placed in a single vase, with each rose representing the family member departed.   As the roses were placed in the vase their names were announced.
