In 2003, Pastor Dave and Cindy Hallstrom stood on 26 acres of raw Sonoran Desert land at the base of the Tucson Mountains and saw something others couldn’t. A sacred place where couples would celebrate forever.
What began as a small ministry chapel quickly grew into something extraordinary. Word spread about the breathtaking sunsets, the privacy of being surrounded by Saguaro National Park, and Dave’s heartfelt ceremonies. Couples from across Arizona began choosing this hidden desert sanctuary for their most important day.
Over two decades, the Hallstroms transformed the land into a premier all-inclusive wedding venue. They added a 6,000 sq ft reception hall, professional coordination, and packages designed to eliminate stress. But the heart of Saguaro Buttes remains unchanged: creating meaningful, unforgettable celebrations surrounded by nature’s beauty.
Today, Saguaro Buttes hosts hundreds of weddings each year, earning consistent 5-star reviews and a reputation as one of Tucson’s most beloved venues. We host only one event or wedding per day, ensuring your celebration feels personal, private, and truly yours.

The Heart Behind Saguaro Buttes
Dave Hallstrom
Founder & Wedding OfficiantDave served in the United States Air Force before earning his Bachelor of Sacred Literature in 1984. He pastored churches in Nebraska and Iowa before relocating to Tucson in 1992 to serve the community through ministry.
Over the past 20+ years, Dave has performed over 2,000 wedding ceremonies at Saguaro Buttes. “I enjoy getting to know couples, providing pre-marital counseling, and making each ceremony special and unique.”
Cindy Hallstrom
Co-Founder & Director of CoordinationRaised on a large cattle ranch in Nebraska, Cindy brings heartland hospitality and organizational excellence to every wedding at Saguaro Buttes. She oversees all coordination, from initial inquiry through the big day, handling contracts, timelines, vendors, and every detail in between.
Together, Dave and Cindy raised four sons, and family remains at the heart of everything they do. “Family and faith are the foundation of Saguaro Buttes. We treat every couple like they’re part of our own family.”
Cecilia
Wedding Coordinator Certified PlannerCecilia leads planning for Saguaro Buttes’ larger full-service weddings, walking alongside couples as their vision comes to life. Calm under pressure and deeply attentive to detail, she builds real relationships with local vendors and shows up fully for every couple she works with, from the very first conversation to the last dance.
For Cecilia, this work is personal. Every couple’s story matters to her, and she pours herself into making sure their day feels exactly as it should, whether she’s coordinating a full all-inclusive celebration or quietly solving a problem no one else even notices. Her care, her presence, and her heart are what make couples feel truly taken care of on one of the most important days of their lives.
Krystal
Office Manager Certified PlannerKrystal keeps the rhythm of Saguaro Buttes steady, holding together the scheduling, staffing, and countless behind-the-scenes details that make every wedding possible. A native Tucsonan with a natural gift for organization, she brings warmth and dependability to everything she touches.
She also coordinates our elopements and smaller celebrations personally, making sure every couple, no matter the size of their day, feels just as important and cared for. Krystal’s quiet dedication is felt everywhere at Saguaro Buttes, even when no one sees it happening. It’s the reason things run so smoothly, and the reason couples leave feeling like they were truly taken care of.

Event DJWith 10 years behind the decks, JJ is all about playing the songs you love, old-school or latest hits, and keeping the dance floor full so your celebration stays fun and stress-free.

Event DJA 30-year DJ vet and former resident at Desert Diamond Casino, Louis stays on the cutting edge of hit music, and spins bilingual sets in Spanish to get every guest on the floor.
