The story goes that the bride and groom, after they first met, were spending a lot of time together, but denying that they were a couple. One of their relatives made the statement, “if it looks like a duck and quacks like a duck” inferring that they were really a couple. So ducks came to have a special and humorous symbolism in their relationship.
