When it Rains on your Wedding Day

When it Rains on your Wedding day

They say it is good luck, when it rains on your wedding day, some say it is a sign of great fertility, (i.e. you will have lots of kids). I don’t know if couples consider that a blessing or not. But most couples would prefer a sunny day instead rainy one.  There are some advantages to having a rainy day on your wedding. First, in Arizona it usually means a cooler day, and not the 110 degrees that it may hit in July or August. Next, most photographers I have talked to prefer a cloudy day over a cloudless day with sharp shadows.  Thirdly, in Arizona the rain usually never is a steady rain, and if you have a little patience, usually it will pass over. With close to a thousand weddings done outside at Saguaro Buttes over the last decade, we have only had to move about a dozen weddings inside. That means for the most part you can bank on having your wedding outside. Our plan B is very acceptable to Brides, with our indoor facility, and large wall to wall windows you still have the beautiful views, but you can be warm and dry inside, as your guest sit at their tables, and the ceremony takes place on the stage.  I will say that some of the most beautiful wedding pictures with some of the most gorgeous sunsets have been taken on rainy days.  Either way you will have a great and memorable day.
